Villanueva Showing Film Awards is an International Short Film Competition for young people between the ages of 15 and 25, organized by the Villanueva University and the Community of Madrid. This initiative aims to encourage young people to reflect on universal human values through audiovisual language. For this reason, each year, promising young cinematographers are challenged to create an original short film on a specific theme, based on a universal value such as silence, forgiveness, peace or loyalty.
During the course of the competition, young people from more than 25 countries and 60 universities from around the world have participated. Each year more than $15,000 in prizes are given out at an awards ceremony, held in a cultural enclave of Madrid, attended by more than 900 people including famous figures of the film world. There are already numerous entities and institutions that believe in this project, expressing their support and collaboration.
